Very Peri Good: The Pantone Colour Of The Year Shopping Edit
Pantone has named its colour of the year: Very Peri. Here we round up our favourite objets for your home and your person in this of-the-moment hue.
Pantone is the global leader when it comes to colour. And, at the close of each year, it sets the tone for the next with the announcement of the official colour that will accompany our next turn around the sun. For 2022, though, that announcement was particularly thrilling, since – for the first time ever – it has created a brand-new shade to do the honours. Its name? Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri.
Of the vibrant periwinkle blue with violet red undertones, Pantone’s executive director Leatrice Eiseman told CNN, ‘It was really important for us to come up with a new colour, because we have a very new vision of the world now.’
Indeed, its creators say: ‘Displaying a carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit, inquisitive and intriguing PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri helps us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, opening us up to a new vision as we rewrite our lives. Rekindling gratitude for some of the qualities that blue represents complemented by a new perspective that resonates today, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri places the future ahead in a new light.’
