It has, alas, been a summer that has necessitated jackets on quite a number of occasions. And while we’re ever optimistic that an Indian summer will yet see it out in a blaze of glory, there are inevitably cooler days coming which require the throwing on of an extra layer, but do not quite call for the full winter coat (thank goodness). Strategic layering has been the way to dress all season long thanks to the usual vagaries of BST, but now we’re upping our game by having in reserve a good gossamer-light jacket to throw on as the nip steals into the air. There are some excellent examples about at the moment; this is our edit of the top dozen on our wish list.
